Maxence Lacroix, The Defender Who Blocks Everything

A French centre half whose value shows in the shots and crosses that never reach the goalkeeper.

Lacroix defends his own penalty area with a conviction that has become slightly unfashionable, throwing himself in front of shots and attacking every cross that comes near him. He is quick enough to defend a high line and strong enough to defend a deep one, which is a genuinely rare combination.
