Is Match Bingo Safe? Licensing, Fair Play and Player Protection

If you’re thinking about putting real money into Match Bingo, there are a couple of sensible things to check first: who’s behind it, who regulates it and whether another player can somehow get an advantage over you.

Match Bingo is operated by RTSB Limited under Gambling Commission account number 51467. That licence is listed on the Gambling Commission’s public register and can be checked by anyone.

The game itself is based on events generated on your card and what happens during the football. There’s no button to press at the right moment, no reaction-time advantage and no way to swap the events you’ve been given.

And, because it’s worth stating plainly, Match Bingo is real-money gambling and is only available to people aged 18 or over.

Who regulates Match Bingo?

The Gambling Commission regulates gambling in Great Britain. RTSB Limited currently holds three active remote licences:

  • Bingo, active since 23 July 2018

  • Gambling software, active since 23 July 2018

  • Pool betting, active since 9 January 2026

You can check all three on the Gambling Commission’s public register by searching for RTSB Limited or account number 51467.

The register shows the licence type, status and the date it became active. It's public, free to use, and doesn't ask you to create an account just to look something up.

Can anybody get an edge?

A standard Match Bingo card has fifteen events arranged across three horizontal rows of five. When one of those events happens in the fixture your card is attached to, the matching square is marked automatically.

So having a quicker phone doesn’t help and neither does being glued to the screen. If one player is watching every second and another has left their phone face down on the sofa, the same match events still update both cards.

The events on each card are generated randomly and can’t be chosen or swapped. Football knowledge doesn’t change that either. Knowing a team’s form, tactics or likely starting eleven has no effect on which events appear on your card or what happens during the match.

For Live Games, only horizontal rows count towards the prize tiers. Those are Fastest 1 Line, Fastest 2 Lines and Fastest Full House. The result comes from the card you were given and the football that follows, nothing else.

Your money

Match Bingo cards can cost real money and prizes are paid in cash. Free-play cards are also available inside the same 18+ product.

Deposits, withdrawals and card settlement are governed by the Match Bingo terms and conditions. Those terms are the place to check the current rules attached to your account and any real-money play.

Staying in control

Match Bingo includes tools that let players put limits or breaks in place through their account.

Deposit limits restrict how much money can be deposited over a chosen period. Time limits restrict the amount of time spent playing. A time-out blocks play for between twenty-four hours and six weeks. Self-exclusion runs from six months to five years, and the account cannot be reactivated during that period. The full set of tools available through Match Bingo is covered on the responsible gaming page.

If you want to take a wider break from gambling, there’s also GAMSTOP, the free national self-exclusion scheme for online gambling. It works across participating gambling websites and apps rather than just your Match Bingo account. Once registered, access to those accounts is blocked for the exclusion period you choose.

Where to get help

GamCare provides free and confidential support for anyone affected by gambling harms in Great Britain, including people concerned about somebody else’s gambling.

The National Gambling Helpline is run by GamCare and can be reached on 0808 8020 133. Support is available 24 hours a day throughout the year by phone, live chat and WhatsApp. GAMSTOP provides a separate self-exclusion service that blocks access to participating gambling websites and apps.

You don’t need to be at a crisis point before using any of these services. They’re there for anyone who wants information, support or a break from gambling.

Frequently asked questions

Is Match Bingo licensed?

Yes. RTSB Limited holds active remote licences for bingo, gambling software and pool betting under Gambling Commission account number 51467. The licence details are available on the Gambling Commission’s public register.

Can knowing about football help you win?

Football knowledge doesn’t affect the outcome of a Match Bingo card. The fifteen events are generated randomly, players can’t change them and nothing a player does can influence what happens in the match.

Is this actually gambling?

Yes. Match Bingo involves real-money cards and cash prizes, and players must be 18 or over. It should never be treated as a way to make money.

How can you take a break from playing?

Match Bingo accounts include time-out and self-exclusion options, along with deposit and time limits. GAMSTOP provides a wider self-exclusion service across participating gambling websites and apps.

18+. Match Bingo is operated by RTSB Limited, licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account number 51467. GamCare provides free, confidential advice and support for anyone affected by gambling.
