Harvey Blair, The Winger Built Like A Forward

A tricky left winger with a bigger frame than most, Blair can hold off defenders as well as beat them.

Blair progressed through Liverpool's academy as a tricky, direct winger, someone opposing full-backs struggle to handle. He combines close control with a bigger frame than most wide players carry, which lets him shield the ball and ride a challenge. His instinct to run at people directly still forces mistakes out of opponents, rather than relying purely on speed to get away. He offers real versatility too, capable of playing through the middle or dropping into a number ten role.

A serious knee injury during his time at Liverpool interrupted his development at a key stage. Fitness has continued to shape how much of him Portsmouth fans actually get to see across a full campaign. A player with his mix of size and trickery should be a defender's nightmare on paper, yet turning that potential into a settled run of performances remains the unresolved part of his story.
