Milutin Osmajić, The Talent Discipline Cannot Contain

A club record fee bought real finishing quality, though trouble of his own making keeps interrupting his time at Preston.

Osmajić announced himself almost immediately after Preston paid a club record fee to sign him from Spanish football. He scored a match winning goal within weeks and later added hat tricks that showed real composure in front of goal rather than a one off flash of form. He leads the line with genuine physical presence and an instinct for finding space in the box that clubs at this level rarely get to sign outright.

The tension around him has little to do with his finishing and everything to do with discipline. Lengthy bans for flashpoints on the pitch have repeatedly taken him out of a Preston side that clearly plays better with him in it. Whether he can channel that same intensity into simply scoring goals, rather than picking up suspensions, will decide how his time at the club is eventually remembered.
