Jordan Storey, The Defender Non League Football Built

He started at tiny non league clubs before Exeter City spotted him, shaping a defender who takes nothing for granted.

Storey came through several non league clubs before Exeter City's academy gave him a proper platform, a route few Championship defenders share. It explains why he never looks like he is coasting through a routine afternoon. He defends with genuine discipline, closing down space early rather than relying on a last ditch recovery challenge, a habit built during those tougher early years.

He has also scored important goals from centre back, including a left footed volley that showed real technique for a defender.
