This Week on Match Bingo: Premier League and Championship, 28 to 31 August

Friday night under the lights, a packed Saturday, four games on Sunday and then one lonely fixture sitting on Monday night. This week across the Premier League and Championship, we’ve got a tantalising 22 fixtures spread over four days.

Crystal Palace against Manchester City gets things started on Friday. Middlesbrough against West Brom is live on ITV1 at half twelve on Saturday, and Aston Villa against Arsenal closes the round on Monday night. It’s going to be a very busy week for football fans.

Aston Villa against Arsenal on Monday night

Aston Villa host Arsenal at Villa Park on Monday 31 August at 20:00, live on Sky Sports, and there’s nothing else on in either division.

If you’re playing along with Match Bingo, buy your card before kick-off and then let the match take over. Goals, corners, bookings and other events can all move things along, so bits of the game you might normally barely notice will have a bit more riding on them.

Getting set up

Everything you need to do happens before kick-off. 

1. Pick a fixture from the Premier League or Championship list in the app

2. Choose your game type

3. Buy however many cards you want (up to a limit of 5 per match)

Then the card is set. And because this round runs from Friday through to Monday, there’s no need to treat it as one long football marathon unless that’s how you want to spend your weekends (we’re not judging). 

You could play the Friday night game, leave Saturday alone, come back on Sunday or wait for Villa against Arsenal on Monday. Cards are bought per fixture, so each game stands on its own.

If you’d rather not wait for live games

There are a few decent gaps between the live fixtures this weekend. Friday night finishes, then there’s nothing until Saturday lunchtime. Sunday’s football wraps up before the Monday-night game, which leaves another stretch with no Premier League or Championship fixture to follow. 

Quick Games run during those gaps. A new one starts every few minutes using action from a Premier League match played last season. The original match has already happened, so you’re not following a live fixture, but the card still uses fifteen events and the same line and full-house prize tiers as a Live Game.
