There are worse ways to get promoted. Hull left it until the 95th minute at Wembley, which is either the best day of your life or several years off it, depending on where you were sitting.

Nine years is long enough for a club to change completely, and the Tigers come back into this with very little to lose. That’s usually when they’re most awkward. Nobody expects much, so every point feels like a bonus and every home game carries a bit of an edge.
