Tim Iroegbunam, Duels First, Discipline Later

A midfielder who wins almost every battle he enters and is still learning which ones to enter.

Iroegbunam is built for the physical side of English midfield play, arriving into contact rather than waiting for it and coming out with the ball far more often than not. Press him and he tends to keep his head, taking the touch that gets him out of trouble and then finding a forward pass instead of a panicked one backwards. His recovery speed lets him cover ground that a slower midfielder would simply concede.

Rawness is the honest description of everything else, because he dives into challenges he does not need to make and leaves a passing lane open behind him. He also carries the ball from deep positions where a simple pass would be considerably safer. Everton have a genuine footballer here who needs a settled role and a long run inside it.
