Thierno Barry, A Target Man Who Dribbles

A striker built like an old fashioned centre forward who would much rather run at people.

Barry is dominant in the air, which is the first thing anybody notices and the least interesting part of what he actually does. The unusual element is the carrying, because he collects the ball in wide areas and glides forward with it at a speed his frame should not really allow. Defenders who set themselves up to wrestle a target man find themselves being run past instead, which is an uncomfortable adjustment to make during a match.

Control is the honest weakness, because the touch that should kill the ball dead occasionally runs away from him and the moment disappears with it. He also finishes first time far more often than he manufactures a shot for himself, which suits a team that crosses well and frustrates one that does not.
