Dango Ouattara, The Winger Who Scores Late

Brentford's record signing keeps finding decisive goals in the moments when a match is hanging in the balance.

Ouattara attacks a full back head on, using pace over the first five yards to reach the byline before cover arrives, rather than cutting inside to shoot the way most modern wingers are coached to play. He can operate as an out and out winger or drop into a wing back role when his team needs an extra body defending, and either way his directness rarely changes at all.

What stands out is his record of scoring in the biggest moments, including late winners that arrived when most players would have already settled for a draw. That habit does not show up neatly in a highlight reel of skill, but teammates and coaches notice it far more than fans sometimes do.
