Rob Apter, A Winger Who Cuts Inside

A technical dribbler modelled on Premier League creators looks to curl shots into the far corner.

Apter's game leans heavily on close control, the sort of player who invites a challenge rather than avoiding it because he trusts his ability to get past a defender in a tight space. Cutting inside from the right is his clearest habit, opening his body to shoot rather than looking to cross every time he reaches the byline. He has spoken about modelling parts of his game on Premier League playmakers, wanting genuine end product rather than being purely decorative.

The tension in his game is the same one facing most inverted wingers, whether defenders eventually work out the pattern and block the route onto his favoured foot. A predictable winger becomes far easier to defend against once a full back knows which way he is going to cut. Whether Apter develops a genuine second option is worth following.
