Yoane Wissa, The Forward Who Runs In Behind

He drags centre backs out of position with movement timed to arrive just as a teammate finds the pass.

Wissa is at his most dangerous when he is running rather than receiving with his back to goal. He times his sprint into the channel so the ball meets his stride instead of forcing him to check and control it first. That timing separates him from a forward who merely has raw pace. Plenty of quick strikers still arrive at the wrong moment and lose the advantage their legs gave them in the first place.

He is also comfortable finishing with either foot or his head, which stops defenders from showing him onto a supposedly weaker side. The tension is whether service in a new team arrives with the same regularity it once did at his previous club, since that clever movement means nothing without a teammate willing to actually find it in time.
