Sean Steur

Steur is happiest receiving the ball facing forward. He checks his shoulder early enough that he already knows where the next pass is going before it has even reached his feet. That habit of playing between the lines rather than in front of them marked him out at academy level. It takes real composure for a young midfielder to keep choosing the difficult pass over the simple one when pressure closes in fast around him.

Energy is the other half of his game, since he covers ground to win the ball back rather than only offering himself in possession further up the pitch. Whether that same appetite for forward passing survives against defenders who are quicker to close the gap is the question a young midfielder arriving in a new league always has to answer for himself.
