Zeki Amdouni, The Forward Who Just Scores

An attacker whose record across several countries and competitions keeps returning to the same simple conclusion, he finds the net.

Amdouni has scored at every level he has been asked to play, from Swiss domestic football through European competition and now internationally, a pattern that stops looking like coincidence fairly quickly. He is comfortable centrally as an out and out striker or slightly deeper as a supporting forward, and the goals have followed him regardless of the role given. That versatility means a manager can build an attack around him without committing to one system.

What separates a genuinely reliable finisher from a flattering run of form is whether goals keep arriving once the service changes and games get tougher. Amdouni has already answered that once, moving up through better leagues without the record drying up. The next step is simply the latest version of a test he has passed before.
