Aaron Ramsey, The Midfielder Who Arrives Late

A young attacker whose habit of timing late runs has already produced goals at more than one club.

Ramsey plays with a forward's instinct even though he is listed as a midfielder, drifting wide to receive possession before cutting inside and arriving in the box just as a cross or cutback becomes available. That timing has produced multi goal games more than once, evidence the movement is a genuine pattern rather than a lucky run of finishes. He is comfortable enough on the ball to create those chances himself when nobody else does.

He was flagged as one of English football's most promising young attackers before he had really established himself anywhere, the kind of reputation that can hang over a career unfairly. The tension is whether he settles into one position long enough for late runs to become a reliable weapon rather than an occasional highlight. Burnley get the chance to find that settled role for him.
