Oliver Sonne, The Full Back Who Wants It

A right back who has proven he can produce a decisive moment in a final rather than just defend one.

Sonne scored the winning goal in a domestic cup final for his previous club, the kind of moment that says plenty about a player's appetite for responsibility when a match is level and nerves are highest. That is not a common item on a young full back's résumé, and it points to someone who wants to be involved in the biggest moments rather than simply survive them. He plays with the same directness in less pressured matches, pushing forward whenever the game allows.

The usual trade off for an attacking full back is what happens defensively once he has committed forward and possession is lost. Sonne has to prove that appetite for the big moment does not cost positional discipline further back. Burnley fans want the cup final courage without the gaps it can sometimes leave.
