Dominic Solanke, The Forward Who Brings Others In

Solanke holds off a defender long enough for the whole team to move up the pitch around him.

Solanke does the unglamorous work a centre forward needs to do before any of the goals become possible. He shields the ball with his back to goal and waits for support to arrive rather than forcing a pass too early. His movement across the front line drags defenders into uncomfortable positions, opening space for a winger or a midfielder arriving from deep even when he never touches the ball himself. That willingness to play for the team rather than purely for himself is what makes him valuable in a system built around quick combinations.
