Destiny Udogie, The Full Back Who Tackles Hard

Udogie wins the ball back with a physicality most full backs would rather avoid, then carries it upfield himself.

Udogie defends with a combativeness that stands out even in a position full of aggressive players. He throws himself into challenges rather than waiting for an attacker to make the first move. Once he has the ball his instinct is to carry it forward himself, using close control to beat a winger in a one on one rather than looking for the nearest pass. That directness with the ball makes him one of Tottenham's more reliable ways of escaping pressure when the team is pinned back in its own half.
