Rodrigo Bentancur

A defensive midfielder who breaks up an attack before it starts, positioning himself between the lines so a dangerous pass has nowhere obvious to go. He is calm on the ball once he has won it, choosing a simple, secure pass over anything risky.

Rodrigo Bentancur, The Midfielder Who Reads It Early

Bentancur stops an attack developing in the first place rather than waiting to make the tackle once it is underway.

Bentancur's value shows up before the ball even arrives. His positioning cuts off a passing lane so effectively that the opposition often has to reset their attack from scratch. He rarely dives into a rash challenge, preferring to shepherd an opponent into a less dangerous area before winning the ball cleanly rather than gambling on a tackle. Once possession is his, he keeps things simple, recycling the ball to a more creative teammate rather than forcing a pass that is not really on.

The tension around a midfielder built on positioning rather than raw pace is what happens against a team quick enough to move the ball faster than he can adjust. His reading of the game usually buys him enough time regardless, which is exactly why Tottenham trust him to shield the back four in the biggest matches.

Clean sheets in the Premier League and Championship

Five Premier League keepers have three clean sheets from five games, but Konstantinos Tzolakis has made the most saves of the group. In the Championship, George Wickens has matched Lawrence Vigouroux's four clean sheets while facing far more shots.

Match Bingo Game Modes Explained

There are three game types on Match Bingo and they behave less alike than they sound. Live Games follow a real fixture as it's played. Bingoals swaps the fifteen events for fifteen teams and needs every one of them to score. Quick Games run every few minutes on football from last season, so there's nothing to wait for.

Does a New Signing Change Anything on Your Match Bingo Card?

Deadline day comes and goes and your card stays exactly as it was. Match Bingo cards are built from things that happen in a match, goals and corners and fouls, rather than from the players who make them happen. No name on a teamsheet reaches a single square. Here's what a signing does change, and what it doesn't.

Is Match Bingo Safe? Licensing, Fair Play and Player Protection

Two things usually sit behind that question: whether the company is real and regulated, and whether the game itself can be got at by somebody sharper than you. Match Bingo is operated by RTSB Limited under Gambling Commission account 51467, which takes about a minute to check. The second answer is duller: there's nothing to press.

What Is Football Bingo?

A card holds fifteen things that can happen in a football match, and each square marks itself the moment its event happens in the fixture you've chosen. You buy before kick-off, then you go and watch the game. Complete a horizontal row of five before anybody else and you take the fixed prize for that tier.

Rodrigo Bentancur: The Calm Controller

Spurs’ midfield organiser, built to play through pressure and keep the rhythm steady.

Bentancur plays like a midfielder who enjoys difficult moments. He receives with pressure on his back, turns away from contact and keeps Spurs moving forward with calm decisions. In matches where Spurs need control rather than chaos, he becomes vital because he can slow the game, then speed it up with one sharp pass.

He also gives Spurs balance defensively. He positions well, tracks runners and supports Palhinha so the midfield doesn’t get stretched too easily. Bentancur’s influence isn’t always loud, but it’s constant, and Spurs often look more connected through the middle because he keeps the game flowing.
