Jonah Kusi-Asare, The Frame And The Feet

The Sweden youth international offers aerial power and real technique in one striker, which is a rare combination.

Kusi-Asare became the youngest player ever to appear in Sweden's top division, then moved to Bayern Munich and worked upwards through their age groups until a Bundesliga appearance arrived. Coaches who have worked with him describe a forward who is strong, technical and capable of scoring out of nothing, and he strikes the ball comfortably with either foot. He also drops deep to win possession rather than waiting on the shoulder.

The gap between promise and a Premier League centre forward is enormous, and nothing in his profile guarantees that he closes it. Very tall young strikers often need years to grow into their bodies, and coordination that looks effortless against teenagers can desert them against defenders who hold and lean.
