The trophy’s back. Now comes the hard bit

Winning it once was supposed to be the hard part. Turns out doing it again might be harder. Arsenal spent years as the team that almost got there, and now they’re the one everybody else circles in the calendar.

That changes how the games actually feel. Sides that would once have come to the Emirates and had a go will sit deeper, waste a bit more time and back themselves to nick something late. Breaking that down week after week is a completely different job to chasing somebody down.

It should make for a lot of tight afternoons. Corners, cards and a nervy last ten minutes while somebody tries to hang on for a point.

Two things usually sit behind that question: whether the company is real and regulated, and whether the game itself can be got at by somebody sharper than you.
