Tomas Rigo, The Midfielder Who Shoots From Range

Rigo controls the tempo of a midfield the way a genuine playmaker should, slowing play down when a team needs to breathe and quickening it the moment space opens ahead of him. What separates him from a purely controlling midfielder is his willingness to shoot from distance, a habit that has already produced a dipping strike from outside the box in England. Coaches back home reached for comparisons to major European midfielders describing that blend of control and end product.
