Ben Pearson, The Midfielder Who Never Stops Hunting

His tackling has always come with a cost attached, and managing that edge without losing it has defined his career.

Pearson closes down passing lanes before an opponent has settled on a pass, arriving into challenges with a directness that regularly wins possession back in dangerous areas. That aggression makes him difficult to play against, because he treats every loose ball as a personal contest he intends to win. Teammates benefit from the extra ground he covers, since it frees them to hold more advanced positions without worrying who screens the back four.
