Ben Wilmot, The Centre Back Who Started Deeper

A midfield upbringing still shapes how comfortably he plays out from the back under pressure most defenders would rather avoid.

Wilmot receives the ball facing his own goal and turns out of trouble the way a converted midfielder does, choosing a forward pass instead of the safe option a purely defensive centre back would take automatically.
