Scott Twine, The Midfielder Chasing Another Screamer

A number ten whose reputation was built almost entirely on spectacular long range goals from open play and free kicks.

Twine made his name in League One scoring the kind of goals that get replayed long after the final whistle, curling free kicks past goalkeepers and finding the top corner from well outside the box. That season earned him the division's player of the season award and a place among the best young attacking talents outside the top two tiers. He plays instinctively rather than mechanically, always alert to the moment a defence backs off half a yard too far.
