Will Lankshear, The Instinctive Penalty Box Poacher

A striker whose value lives entirely inside the penalty area, arriving on crosses and cutbacks with instinctive, well disguised timing.

Lankshear reads the flight of a cross and the angle of a defender's body before either has fully developed. That lets him find half a yard of space in situations where most forwards are still working out where to run. His finishing is calm rather than powerful, placing the ball rather than smashing it, which suggests a forward who has spent real time perfecting the craft of scoring.

What supporters will want to see is whether he can produce that instinct against the physical, well organised centre back pairings the Championship specialises in.
