Pierce Charles

Charles reads situations early and rarely looks rushed. That lets him play out under pressure that would force a jumpier goalkeeper into an aimless punt downfield. He commands his box with real calm, and his distribution regularly turns defence straight into attack rather than just clearing the danger. That composure on the ball is the biggest reason for his rapid rise from academy football into senior international recognition.

Shoulder surgery has interrupted him more than once, which matters given how much a goalkeeper leans on that joint for saves and long throws. The real question is whether he can string together an uninterrupted run once he is back to full fitness. Watch how quickly he is trusted with a settled run of starts, because that will say more than anything he shows in training.
