Kwame Poku

Poku is at his most dangerous with the ball at his feet and a defender directly in front of him. He uses rapid changes of tempo and body feints to manufacture space that simply was not there a second earlier. He operates comfortably on either flank or through the middle, which makes him hard to plan for since opponents rarely know where he will start a game, let alone finish it. Individual awards from his previous club recognised a forward who created chances for teammates as readily as for himself.

The fair question about a dribbler this direct is efficiency. Carrying the ball into crowded areas repeatedly always risks running into a dead end as often as it creates an opening. Whether that end product survives a step up against sharper defenders will be the real test of his first full season in a tougher league.
