Luca Kjerrumgaard, The Striker Built For Crosses

A young Danish striker whose heading ability turned a short scoring streak into a move up two divisions inside a single year.

Kjerrumgaard is at his most dangerous when a full back or winger is lining up a cross, because he times his run into the six yard box better than most strikers his age and attacks the ball rather than waiting for it. He is comfortable finishing with either foot in the six yard box, but heading is genuinely his signature threat, the sort of attribute a team can build a set piece routine around rather than hope for occasionally.

A short scoring streak for a struggling side is what actually got him noticed and moved twice inside a year, which is a reminder of how quickly reputations can shift on a handful of matches. The question is whether he can produce that same instinct in the box once the service is less frequent and defenders are considerably better organised at dealing with crosses. Watch how often teammates actually look for him in the air, because that trust has to be earned all over again at a higher level.
