Medić spent his most important developing years in Germany, working through the third tier before three seasons at St Pauli sharpened him into a defender clubs were willing to pay for. His considerable size alone forces strikers to think twice about a physical battle. That platform took him to Ajax, one of Europe's most storied academies, before a Bundesliga loan and his eventual move to Norwich on a lengthy deal.
