Oscar Schwartau, The Midfielder Who Broke Records Young

He became the youngest player in Brøndby's history, then scored soon after to break their goalscoring record as well.

Schwartau made his senior debut for Brøndby at an astonishingly young age, becoming the youngest player in the club's history. He went on to become their youngest ever league goalscorer within weeks of that first appearance. Those records were not a one off fluke, coming from a player who had already progressed rapidly through Denmark's youth ranks despite regularly being younger than his teammates.

Norwich paid a fee that reflected genuine belief in a player still developing his physical maturity alongside his obvious technical ability. He was named Norwich's young player of the season, a strong early sign the transition to English football has not slowed his progress. How Schwartau handles being judged as a finished attacking midfielder rather than a teenage prodigy is the next stage of his development to watch.
