Darlin Yongwa, The Defender Who Just Wins Things

He helped Lorient win a French title before bringing that winning habit and a full Cameroon career to Norwich.

Yongwa built his career on steady accumulation rather than standout moments, racking up plenty of appearances at Niort before Lorient trusted him with a bigger stage in France's top flight. When Lorient dropped down a division, he stayed. He helped drive them straight back up in a title winning campaign that says plenty about his consistency under pressure.

He has also earned more than a dozen caps for Cameroon, including a goal against Zambia, adding international pedigree to his domestic record. What makes Yongwa worth watching is whether reliability built almost entirely in French football translates smoothly to the physical demands of English defending, where duels are won on strength as often as timing. Whether his calm approach holds up against more direct wingers is the question Norwich fans will be answering.
