Ben Chrisene, The Record Breaking Academy Left Back

He broke a youngest player record at Exeter, then won the FA Youth Cup with Aston Villa before joining Norwich.

Chrisene became Exeter City's youngest ever player as a young teenager, breaking a long standing record previously held by a defender who went on to play for Chelsea. That early promise convinced Aston Villa to sign him within a year. He scored in an FA Youth Cup final for Villa against Liverpool's own academy side, part of a winning team that suggested a genuinely bright future was realistic.

Loan spells at Kilmarnock and Blackburn later tested him against senior professionals before Norwich made his move permanent. The tension around a player with his background is the gap between academy achievement and first team readiness, because youth records do not always translate into regular Championship starts. He has already overcome a serious knee injury during his development, which shows resilience beyond his years.
