Born in Toronto to Ethiopian parents, he trialled across Europe before Vancouver Whitecaps gave him his chance to shine.

Ahmed spent his teenage years chasing trials across Europe before Vancouver Whitecaps finally gave him an academy pathway, and he made the most of it.
