Mathis Servais, The Midfielder Built For Two Roles

A Belgian midfielder whose physical range and calm passing let him shift between central and left sided roles.

Servais covers the pitch with the kind of stamina that lets him arrive late into the box or drop deep to help build play, depending on what the moment requires. His passing range is progressive rather than sideways, looking to move the ball forward through midfield instead of simply keeping possession ticking over.

Millwall see him primarily through the middle, though his time playing wider earlier in his career means he can slot left without the system needing to change around him. The question is whether that versatility becomes his defining strength or leaves him without a settled position to truly master.
