Neco Williams

Williams built his reputation on raw pace, the kind that lets a full back recover after being caught upfield and still win the footrace back. That speed still defines him, but the more interesting development has been his willingness to play either side of defence. He tucks in narrow one week and hugs the touchline the next, depending entirely on what the opposition winger demands from him.

The crossing has grown sharper too, arriving from deep areas rather than the byline because he drives inside onto his stronger foot. The question that follows him is whether he settles permanently on one side rather than continuing to cover wherever Forest need him. A regular position would let him build the specific partnerships that turn a good full back into a genuinely dangerous one.
