Nottingham Forest

Matz Sels

A goalkeeper whose reflexes have repeatedly bailed Forest out of matches that looked lost, throwing himself across goal for saves most shot stoppers would not reach. He has been recognised with one of the division's individual goalkeeping honours, credit that says plenty about his consistency.

Matz Sels, The Goalkeeper Forest Leans On

A shot stopper whose reflex saves have repeatedly turned a losing position into something Forest could still salvage.

Sels has built his Forest career on reflex saves rather than commanding presence alone, throwing a hand to a shot that already looked in before most goalkeepers would have finished their initial movement. He has been recognised with one of the division's individual goalkeeping honours. That kind of credit usually reflects a defence performing brilliantly in front of him, except in his case the saves themselves did plenty of that work.

That reputation now carries an expectation with it, because supporters have started treating a spectacular stop as routine rather than exceptional. The pressure that creates is subtle but real. A goalkeeper judged against his own highlight reel has far less room for an ordinary mistake than one who arrived at the club with no reputation to defend. Consistency across many matches, rather than isolated moments of brilliance, is what will define his legacy at the club.

Clean sheets in the Premier League and Championship

Five Premier League keepers have three clean sheets from five games, but Konstantinos Tzolakis has made the most saves of the group. In the Championship, George Wickens has matched Lawrence Vigouroux's four clean sheets while facing far more shots.

Match Bingo Game Modes Explained

There are three game types on Match Bingo and they behave less alike than they sound. Live Games follow a real fixture as it's played. Bingoals swaps the fifteen events for fifteen teams and needs every one of them to score. Quick Games run every few minutes on football from last season, so there's nothing to wait for.

Does a New Signing Change Anything on Your Match Bingo Card?

Deadline day comes and goes and your card stays exactly as it was. Match Bingo cards are built from things that happen in a match, goals and corners and fouls, rather than from the players who make them happen. No name on a teamsheet reaches a single square. Here's what a signing does change, and what it doesn't.

Is Match Bingo Safe? Licensing, Fair Play and Player Protection

Two things usually sit behind that question: whether the company is real and regulated, and whether the game itself can be got at by somebody sharper than you. Match Bingo is operated by RTSB Limited under Gambling Commission account 51467, which takes about a minute to check. The second answer is duller: there's nothing to press.

What Is Football Bingo?

A card holds fifteen things that can happen in a football match, and each square marks itself the moment its event happens in the fixture you've chosen. You buy before kick-off, then you go and watch the game. Complete a horizontal row of five before anybody else and you take the fixed prize for that tier.

Matz Sels: A Calm Presence in Goal

Forest’s steady last line, built to keep things simple and make the saves that stop matches slipping away.

Sels plays like a goalkeeper who believes calm is contagious. He catches cleanly, parries safely, and rarely turns pressure into panic. For Forest, who often face long periods without the ball, having a keeper who stays composed is vital because it helps the team reset rather than crumble.

He’s also brave in crowded areas. He comes for crosses, claims space, and doesn’t shy away from physical contact. When Forest grind out points, Sels is often one of the reasons, not through noise, but through control, the kind that keeps a season alive.
