Ismaïla Sarr, The Forward Who Has Won Finals

Sarr scored the decisive penalty in a cup final and lifted a continental title with Senegal, unfazed by occasions.

Sarr's first weapon is straight line speed, turning a half yard of space into a clean run at goal before a defender can recover. He times his runs in behind to stay just onside, then finishes with a composure that suggests he trusts the position he is in. Off the ball he presses from the front, using that same pace to close down a centre back before the pass even arrives.

The question that follows Sarr from club to club is consistency, because the pace has never been in doubt while the end product occasionally has. He can go quiet in matches where the opposition sits deep and refuses to leave him space to run into. Watch how often he drifts to the left touchline looking for the ball in space. That is usually when he is at his most dangerous.
