A homegrown playmaker links midfield and attack with a passing range few academy graduates ever properly develop this early.

Colwill came through Cardiff's academy and has grown into the player his coaches trust most with the ball in dangerous areas. He is comfortable receiving under pressure, picking the pass that actually breaks a line rather than the safe one sideways. He plays centrally or drifts wide depending on what the team needs on a given day, and his vision lets Cardiff attack through him rather than simply around him. Wales trust him at senior level for exactly the same reasons his club does.
