Gnonto's dribbling works best in confined areas rather than open space, using quick feet and a low centre of gravity to go past a full back backed into a corner near the touchline. Cutting inside from the left onto his right foot gives him a direct route towards goal rather than just towards the byline, which makes him a genuine goal threat and not only a creator. He competes physically for a smaller player, refusing to be muscled off the ball.

What separates him from tricky wingers generally is the work he does without the ball, tracking back to help his full back rather than treating defending as somebody else's job.
