That patience finally paid off away from Lincoln, when a loan spell produced the consistent scoring form that had been missing and helped his temporary side win promotion.

The obvious question now is whether that breakthrough travels back with him or whether it was simply the right team at the right moment. Plenty of strikers find form on loan that never quite reappears once they return to their parent club. Lincoln fans want proof the goals were about him finding his level, not just a lucky spell somewhere else.
