Boubacar Traoré

Traoré's job is to be in the right place before the danger arrives, screening the back four rather than throwing himself into challenges he does not need to make. He reads where an attack is heading and closes off the space early, which limits the shots a back line actually has to deal with. In possession he keeps his passing simple and secure, recycling the ball to a teammate in space instead of trying to force something that is not there.

A player built this way rarely draws attention the way a goalscorer does, doing work that only really gets noticed once it stops happening properly. The question for Wolves is whether he offers enough on the ball to influence matches when the opponent sits deep and simply denies him space to break into. Watch how often he is the first pass out of defence, because that tells you how much his team trusts him with the ball.
