Boubacar Traoré, The Midfielder Who Shields The Defence

He breaks up attacks before they reach his back four, choosing position and discipline over a lunging challenge every time.

Traoré's job is to be in the right place before the danger arrives, screening the back four rather than throwing himself into challenges he does not need to make. He reads where an attack is heading and closes off the space early, which limits the shots a back line actually has to deal with.
