Nihad Mujakic

Nihad Mujakic makes Bosnia and Herzegovina's confirmed 26 for the 2026 World Cup as a defender, the 28-year-old earning Sergej Barbarez's cut. The Gaziantep man is valued at around €1.20m and a former Bosnia youth international.

Bosnia and Herzegovina took Group B in the draw, alongside Canada, Qatar and Switzerland. They open against Canada at BMO Field in Toronto on 12 June, face Switzerland at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on 18 June, then Qatar at Lumen Field in Seattle on 24 June. They got here by winning UEFA second-round Path A, qualifying on 31 March 2026.

Mujakic is a left-footed centre-back who can also fill in at left-back, at Super Lig club Gaziantep on loan from Partizan, a well-travelled, durable defender who has logged full Super Lig seasons earlier in his career. He stands 1.89 m, is left-footed, and has played 2,201 minutes this season.

There is a little more to the Gaziantep defender than the usual squad name: across his 11 caps he has chipped in 1 international goal, a handy reminder that he can be a threat from the back when set pieces drop his way. Bosnia and Herzegovina line up in Tier 4 at £10m, a figure that covers the whole squad and not any one man.
