Luca Zidane
About Luca Zidane
He is the son of Zinedine Zidane and came through the Real Madrid academy before building his senior career in Spain. After representing France at youth level, he chose to play for Algeria, the country of his paternal grandparents from the Kabylie region, and made his international debut during World Cup qualifying in October 2025. Six caps in, he is one of several goalkeepers Algeria are weighing ahead of the tournament, his place still to be settled when the final 26 is named.
World Cup 2026 Stats
Playing Style
At senior international level he is still establishing himself, having only recently broken into the Algeria setup. For the 2026 World Cup he is one of the goalkeeping options in Petković's pool, competing for the starting place rather than going in as the established number one.
World Cup History
There are no previous senior World Cup appearances on his record, and his place is not yet settled, with Algeria's final 26 still to be confirmed. Should he make the cut, the tournament would be comfortably the biggest stage of his career to date and a first taste of football at this level.

Zidane at the 2026 World Cup
At the 2026 World Cup, Zidane would be one of the goalkeeping choices in Algeria's group, his place resting on Vladimir Petković's final call. He arrives with only a handful of senior caps, having stepped up to the national team late in the qualifying campaign, and would carry his Real Madrid academy background into a first senior World Cup.
Picking Algeria in Goal Rush
Algeria are one of the cheapest teams in Goal Rush, £10m in Tier 4 and drawn in Group J. Zidane is the goalkeeping option in that team slot, with Algeria's group opening against Argentina before Jordan and Austria.
