Marcos Senesi

Senesi plays like a defender who takes pride in the ugly bits. He blocks shots, throws himself at crosses and competes in the air with real conviction, the sort of centre-back you want when the match becomes desperate around your penalty area. He’s vocal too, constantly organising the line, pulling players into position and making sure Bournemouth don’t lose their structure when the game gets stretched.

On the ball, he adds balance through his left foot. He keeps build-up smooth with simple passes into midfield, and when the pressure rises he’s willing to go longer to relieve the team and reset territory. He’s not a defender who looks pretty doing it, but he’s a defender who makes opponents feel it, and that presence matters across a season.
